Prologue:
Carlisle, Edward, Emmett and Jasper stood in the kitchen. They were discussing the joining of forces with the pack. Emmett, who was on the counter, looked just over Jasper’s shoulder, seeing glowing white eyes in the dark on the deck. When he furrowed his brows, Edward noticed. Edward would have turned to see what Emmett was looking at, but the phone rang. They let it go to the answering machine.
“Damn it, Mayor,” they heard Peter cursing Jasper, snickering at it, “somebody answer this damn phone. I got a surprise for ya, Comandante Mayor. That pieza encantadora de vampiro ojo blanco that is Angevin St John has ‘crecido’, you know.”
They heard Charlotte popping him upside his head.
“Just one thing, Comandante Mayor,” Peter paused for effect, ‘knowing’ that they were listening, “don’t look behind you.”
Edward and Emmett looked behind Jasper on instinct. And there was the cause of Peter’s warning. A brown/black haired girl, with deathly pale skin, was crouched on the railing. Her hair was plastered to her face, as it was currently raining outside, and her eyes were white and practically glowing. She smirked and Edward stepped backward. It seemed to happen in slow motion. The girl jumped and the glass of the door shattered as she headed straight for Jasper. And Jasper didn’t even move. Of course, they didn’t know that he didn’t perceive her as a threat.
The girl hit Jasper’s back and he went down. The two started chuckling. She kissed his cheek.
“Miss me, Comandante?” She rested her chin on his shoulder, her hands braced against his back.
Jasper rolled over on to his back, squashing her underneath him.
“I don’t know, Vin,” He chuckled, “should I, darlin’?”
Angevin St John gave a pained huff, pushing with useless human strength against Jasper’s back.
“Get off,” She huffed, pushing against him.
Jasper just crossed his arms over his chest.
“Make me,” He replied.
Emmett snickered at the grin on Jasper’s face.
“It’ll take more than two words to get you off, Jazz,” She sighed, head lulling back against the wood floor.
Her eyes flicked over to Carlisle, then up at Emmett. She would have looked over at Edward, but she couldn’t see over Jasper. Edward ‘heard’ her distress about it and moved to where she could see him. She almost seemed relieved, but she was muttering in her head about being ‘crushed by curly’. Edward snorted and Angevin gave him a look.
“Can somebody get him off me?” She asked.
“Do it yourself, Vin,” Jasper told her.
“But…” She whined, “I don’t want to damage their ceiling.”
Carlisle actually chuckled at this, then he looked her in the eye.
“Go ahead,” He spoke, “we can always make Emmett fix it.”
Then she heard him say under his breath that Emmett had enough energy for it. Emmett kept looking between Carlisle and Angevin, noticing how she was wiggling under Jasper. He thought at Edward, wondering if Jasper LIKED it. Angevin put her hands on Jasper’s back, her feet against the back of his thighs. Then, with a great heave of vampire strength, she pushed. The second Jasper crashed into the ceiling, Angevin rolled to the side, stopping on her stomach at Carlisle’s feet. Carlisle, Emmett and Edward cringed when Jasper came crashing to the floor. What the others didn’t know, was that Edward was relaying everything to the girls. Esme surprised him by not lamenting about the damaged door, floor and ceiling. Jasper sat up slowly, when he saw that Angevin hadn’t moved from her spot at Carlisle’s feet.
“I think she’s stuck,” Edward spoke.
Carlisle looked down at the ‘girl’ at his feet and noticed something odd. He kneeled down next to her, getting a closer look at her spine. Bones of her spine WERE indeed sticking out, like he had thought. But they were too…scattered for it to have been done when Jasper had rolled over. He couldn’t see ties or a zipper on her pink corset.
“How do we get it off her?” He asked nobody in particular.
Edward seemed to space out for a second.
“Rosalie says that Emmett knows this particular style,” Edward relayed.
Emmett rolled his eyes and got off the counter. He kneeled next to Angevin and put his hand at the bottom of the corset. He moved his finger along the center, noticing what Carlisle had about Angevin’s spine, finding the zipper at the top. He unzipped it slowly for Carlisle, letting it fall open when he let go. All four male vampires hissed slightly when they saw the condition of her back.
“What happened to ya, darlin’?” Jasper spoke softly.
“V…V…” Angevin groaned.
“Victoria?” Carlisle offered.
Angevin made a whimpering sound. Edward looked to his father and nodded. Carlisle let out a breath. A useless venture, but the implication true.
“The corset kept her from completely breaking you,” Carlisle told her, “but…”
Jasper looked up sharply.
“What?”
“I’ll have to push them back in to place. It will hurt…a lot.”
Jasper looked down at Angevin, moving wet locks of brown/black hair, seeing the multi-colored extensions. He looked over to Edward, who relayed to Emmett to lift her. Emmett lifted her by slipping his hands under hers, lifting her up enough that Jasper slipped under her. Emmett lowered her gently, Angevin’s head coming to lay over Jasper’s unbeating heart. But she could always hear it. That’s what was funny. Came with genetic memory. One as old as Mommy Coraline, yes. Coraline had met Jasper when he was a child, so she had the memory of the sound of his beating heart. And Angevin knew that’s all it was, a memory.
Angevin felt Carlisle’s cool fingers at the top spot. Carlisle looked to Jasper, who held on to Angevin, then he pressed down on the spot, quickly and sharply. Emmett saw Angevin’s eyes go white and her fangs slip out, the girl wailing in pain. Jasper put a cool hand over the spot and watched as Carlisle pressed the next one. The room was filled with the sharp cracks of Angevin’s spine being popped back into place, as well as Angevin’s sharp cries. When finished with her back, Emmett was instructed to redo her corset. Then she was rolled over, as soon as he was done.
Carlisle noticed how her arms were locked, then felt her elbows. Jasper looked from Angevin to Carlisle, worry being projected.
“I think she broke her elbows,” Carlisle spoke, the ‘because of how she pushed you off’ left unsaid, “so I have to break her elbows again or they will be stuck like this.”
Angevin’s eyes flicked to Jasper, sending the feeling that it was okay. Jasper nodded at Carlisle. Jasper straddled her hips, Edward her legs, and Emmett held down her shoulders. Angevin bit down on her lip when Carlisle broke one elbow. Edward and Emmett held their breath with Angevin drew blood, but Jasper just watched, as if entranced. Carlisle watched as Jasper leaned forward, pulling her bottom lip out from between her teeth and gently licked the blood away. Jasper chuckled, whispering in her ear that she tasted good. Angevin was the only person in the room that could blush and she did. Carlisle used her distraction to do her other arm.
“hijo de un licker humping del perro del caballo,” She groaned loudly, “sirva de madre al fucker, yo van a rasgar el pelo rojo de esa perra hacia fuera en las raíces!”
Jasper actually cracked up laughing. And Carlisle, Emmett and Edward didn’t know what to make of Angevin.
